Venice Extension Tour

This four-day Extension can be added before the October 18 Italian Heritage Tour or after the October 3 Dolce Vita Food Tour.

For the pre-tour Venice extension you could depart on Oct 12 and arrive on Oct. 13 when the tour starts. Fly into Marco Polo airport in Venice and take a boat to our conveniently located hotel near St. Mark’s Square. When the Venice tour is over you would then have two free nights before the start of the Oct 18 Heritage Tour to visit another location, perhaps Florence? Here’s the Post-Tour Venice extension after the Dolce Vita Tour ending on Oct 13:

October 13  Depart from Lake Orta to Milan and take the high speed train to Venice, where we’ll meet the rest of our group and begin the next chapter of our northern Italian adventure.
Day 1  Monday, Oct 13  Welcome to Venice!
You can rest after your arrival or freshen up and start exploring this magical city. We’ll meet in the early evening for a brief orientation and then enjoy a welcome dinner together at a local restaurant. Sleep in Venice 3 nights.
Day 2  Tuesday, Oct 14  La Serenissima
Today we’ll go on a guided tour of Venice which includes the Doge’s Palace and Bridge of Sighs. Afterward there will be free time to walk through the lovely maze of bridges and canals or visit the Accademia museum to see Venice’s rich artistic treasures.
Day 3  Wednesday, Oct 15  Murano and Burano
This morning we take off for the islands of Murano and Burano. Once major centers for glassblowing and lace making their colorful streets are perfect for wandering. Upon our return you’re free to perhaps ride a gondola or take in a Vivaldi concert.
Day 4  Thursday, Oct 16  Arrivederci
After breakfast you can depart from Venice’s Marco Polo airport for your flight home. Until next time!
